Mar 18, 2012 ยท 26 posts ยท Joined 2010. #1 ยท Mar 18, 2012. I have an 06 vulcan 500. on page 9 in the owners manual it states the oil capacity is (3.6) us quarts. On page 71 it states capacity is (3.0) us quarts when filter is not removed and (3.2) us quarts when filter is removed. Question what does your manual read. Thanks for any replies. May 31, 2011 ยท The "old" bottles were black and the 10W-40 and 20W-50 designations were both shown in a grey band. The new bottles are grey and have a red band for the 10W-40 Racing 4T oil and a blue band for the 20W-50 V-Twin oil. On the back label of the new bottles is a picture of a Mobil 1 filter with a caption to the effect of: "Try a Mobil 1 motorcycle
Apr 7, 2010 ยท Shores. My Clymer service manual says 10W fork oil, 294-288 mm or 11.18-11.34 inches when measured from top of tube when compressed without spring. Make sure you pump it to get the oil in all spaces. Donโt just measure volume of the oil, but measure inches from the top. Worked for me.
